At 8 years old, my teacher reported to my parents that their daughter struggles to write because she can hardly read what is on the blackboard. I was then sent to an an optometrist and got my first pair of prescription glasses after an eye test was conducted.

 Growing up, I’ve been shy of wearing my glasses because they were not trendy enough. Anytime I visited the eye clinic, I battled with getting fashionable but affordable eyewear for my prescription lens. On the other hand,, the lenses were very expensive too! So, seeing an optometrist always meant my parents had to spend a lot.
